1) To provide information and announcements associated with The Bread Board
(TBB) Distribution System, a file distribution network for applications
and information for the TBBS system operator.
2) To provide an open forum for users of The Bread Board System (TBBS)*
Information Manager to buy or sell computer software, hardware,
peripherals, and services, commercial and non-commercial.
GENERAL RULES/STANDARDS:
1) File arrival/distribution announcements are to be made *only* from TBB
FDN Headquarters.
2) Foul or obscene language, personal attacks, invective, and flames will
not be tolerated. Chit chat and nonsense should be kept to a minimum.
3) Encrypted, encoded or rotated messages are forbidden. The use of ASCII
control characters (32 and below), eight bit characters (above 127), and
ANSI codes is prohibited.
4) Messages in this conference are considered public domain. Private or
personal messages are not allowed.
5) Keep quotes as short as possible by quoting just enough to make your
reply references clear.
6) Posting of test messages and BBS advertisements will be considered
annoying behavior. However, any BBS is welcome to make a one time
single message announcement in the conference at the time of linkup.
7) Multiple line signatures are not allowed unless authorized in advance by
the moderator. The moderator may decide on a case by case basis if any
particular signature violates this rule.
8) Messages must be entered using a real name unless authorized in advance
by the moderator. Requests must be made via netmail to the moderator,
and must include the real name and the reason for use of an alias or
handle.
9) This conference is operated under the general provisions of ECHOPOL1
dated 1-17-89. Within FidoNet Zone 1, this conference is also operated
under the provisions of BOP_103 dated 10-14-91. The distribution of
this conference within FidoNet Zone 1 is limited to the Zone 1 Echomail
Backbone and authorized links thereto. Gating, porting, or distributing
this conference via other networks or entities, either within or without
FidoNet, is not allowed without the specific prior approval of the
moderator. Any system that wishes to participate in the conference must
agree to be bound by these rules.
WHAT IS SPECIFICALLY *NOT* ALLOWED:
1) Illegal activities. Activities of any kind that may be be illegal will
NOT be tolerated. Those involving themselves in such will be asked to
leave the conference, and may also be reported to law enforcement
agencies as appropriate. This restriction specifically includes any
offers for sale or transfer of hacked, pirated, or otherwise illegally
obtained items, as well as any programs or text that contains material
that may be pornographic in nature, such as X-rated CD-ROMs. If there's
any doubt, don't!
2) Off topic messages. Occasional drifts off topic are normal, but
repeated off topic messages become annoying to other participants. If
you receive a message from the moderator informing you of an off topic
message, or asking you to cease a discussion, please do so immediately
and without argument.
3) Bashing. You may not like a given individual, product, author, or
distributor, but do not air your dislikes here. This does not preclude
objective reviews or comparisons of various products, trouble reports,
or feature requests. If you have a problem, take it to netmail.
4) Kibitzer moderation. All rules violations are to be addressed ONLY by
the moderator of record, or his designated co-moderator.
5) Rules discussion. Questioning or discussion of the rules of this
conference is off topic. The moderator reserves the right to post the
rules or portions thereof for information or clarification purposes.
Take any other such discussions to netmail.
WHAT IS ALLOWED FOR SALE/TRADE:
Items of direct interest to TBBS system operators: public domain,
shareware, third party applications, and commercial software; hardware,
peripherals, and accessories that can be used on any platform which is
capable of running TBBS; and services directly applicable to TBBS operation,
such as offers and requests for consultation and custom programming.
THIRD PARTY DEVELOPERS AND COMMERCIAL DISTRIBUTORS:
Your participation and support are welcome, encouraged, and appreciated.
Please observe the following rules for product announcements, offers for
sale and advertisements:
1) Please limit announcements for new product(s) to no more than one

advertisements such as product and price lists, to no more
than one message of 8K length every 30 days.
3) Please clearly state whether the program as released is Public Domain,
Shareware, or Commercial. Please also state whether a demo version is
available, and if so, briefly describe the limitations of the demo
version.
4) Please clearly state requirements for use of the product, such as TBBS
version and option modules necessary, hardware and memory, other
necessary programs, etc.
5) Please post prices for all advertised items. Avoid "Call for Pricing"
whenever possible. "Prices subject to Change", provided that a current
price is also listed, is appropriate.

that are available and applicable.

and coordinator. You will be asked to cease posting messages in the
conference for a period of time determined by the moderator.
4) Fourth time - you will be requested to cease all access to the
conference. If you fail to do so, steps will be taken to insure that
your access is severed, period, at whatever level it becomes necessary
to do so. You will no longer be welcome.
Exceptions to the above process are engagement in illegal activity as
previously defined; flaming of another participant; making slanderous or
libelous statements; or the use of profanity in the conference. Any of
these may result in immediate action with no warning.
The moderator reserves all rights to determine what is topical for
discussion and what constitues flaming, slander, libel, profanity, and
pornography for the purposes of this conference, based on his sole
discretion, as well as what actions are appropriate for individuals abusing
their privileges or violating the rules of the conference.
Any replies to warnings or appeals to decisions must be made via NETMAIL
ONLY to the moderator. Such messages in the conference are off topic and
will be so treated without exception.
Thank you sincerely for your cooperation.
